We all want the people we love to enjoy long, healthy and fulfilling lives.
At Food for the Brain, we believe that protecting our brains should be part of protecting our health – and that more people should have the knowledge and tools to take positive action earlier in life.

By leaving a gift in your Will, you can help more people understand how nutrition and lifestyle support brain health, advance vital research, and create a future where fewer families face the devastating impact of cognitive decline and dementia.
There is no expectation about the size of your gift. A small percentage of an estate can make a meaningful difference while still ensuring that those closest to you remain your priority.

A share of your estate
Known as a residuary gift, this is a percentage or share of what remains after your loved ones have been provided for and other costs and gifts have been paid.*

A fixed sum
Known as a pecuniary gift, you can choose to leave a particular amount of money to Food for the Brain.

A specific gift
You can also leave a particular asset or item as part of your Will.
*Because it is a percentage rather than a fixed amount, it can be a particularly flexible way to give.
Gifts left to UK charities are generally exempt from Inheritance Tax and are deducted from the value of an estate before Inheritance Tax is calculated.
In some circumstances, leaving 10% or more of the relevant net value of an estate to charity can reduce the rate of Inheritance Tax applying to the taxable part of the estate.
